No News is Bad News
She says as she disseminates it
According to a CNN article published today, last year England’s heir apparent, Prince William possibly made a beginner’s mistake during a naval training exercise that grounded the plane in which he was training. For those less news savvy than CNN, this would appear to be non-news. After all, it happened last year, it was a mistake many beginners make, no one was hurt and no damage was done to the plane–oh, and William may not have actually committed the error.
However, as CNN constantly reminds us, they’re “The Most Trusted Name in News,” and the sonorous voice of James Earl Jones only lends further credence to that fact (or suggests they’ll use The Force to crush our larynx if we disagree), so one has to assume CNN is simply far more clever than we are and has recognized that this story is so unnewsworthy as to be newsworthy. So take that, news prols–would The Most Trusted Name in News really waste time and money reporting the pointless and banal?
