This is my most recent ancestry composition report from 23 and Me. \u00a0I’ve only expanded the British and Irish geographic reports because the French & German geographic data consists only of what shows up under it’s category, and there is no geographic data for the rest.<\/p>\n

My mother always said we had Cherokee ancestors, and it seems most likely that my Native American ancestors would be of the\u00a0Cherokee Nation, given the area in which my ancestors lived. I’ve often wondered if the Whites on my mother’s side were Cherokee that chose to take “white” names and assimilate rather than to be relocated during the Trail of Tears. \u00a0I’ve done a cursory search through the records of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation, but I haven’t seen anything that matched up.<\/p>\n
